This flat bottom heavy carbon steel wok is engineered for versatile cooking across diverse heat sources. Measuring 14 inches across, this 15-gauge unit delivers consistent performance for stir-frying, deep frying, simmering soups, or outdoor cooking over an open flame.
- Carbon Steel Build: Crafted from 15 gauge (1.8mm) material that provides substantial heat retention and durability.
- Flat Bottom Base: Designed with a flattened section for stability on flat electric coils and induction surfaces, featuring a signature set-up bubble from hammering.
- Weight and Sturdiness: Weighs 4.6 pounds (2.1 kg), ensuring the pan remains steady during high-torque tossing and does not warp under heat.
- Composite Handles: Features a hygroscopic wooden handle for a secure non-slip grip and a steel helper loop that stays cool for hanging storage.
- Cooking Versatility: Functions effectively as a deep frying vessel, soup pot, steamer, or smoker for both indoor and portable meals.
- Hand Hammered Finish: Produced using traditional hammering methods by skilled professionals, offering authentic texture and character unique to each piece.
- Preparation Phase: Requires initial seasoning before the first use to develop the cooking surface and protect the raw metal from oxidation.
- Maintenance Protocol: Must be hand washed and dried immediately with a towel to prevent rust formation and preserve longevity.
Choosing this wok simplifies achieving professional results in a home or outdoor environment. The robust construction supports rigorous daily use while the specialized handle system keeps the user comfortable and safe. Proper care ensures a non-stick patina builds naturally, making hot oil and sauce management easier over time.
